What can you say with four letters?
These concise words appear effective in conveying abstract concepts as well as feelings. In fact, the emotional intensity behind some of these words makes them almost indistinguishable from screams and exclamations. I began cataloging English four letter words in 2017 and from 2022 on the collection is extended with Dutch and Indonesian words.

In the word images the four letters function as an architectural framework. Arranged two by two in a square block the shapes are visually distinguishable due to the colour, residual forms and line markings. The word images and photos on this page give a glimpse of the projects. Overviews of the designs are available for each language.
