The title 'HINT' is a contemporary reminder of the hidden statement in this mural. The concept of 'Less is more' has become quite natural among contemporary artists and designers. It is now impossible to imagine a different approach.

De Stijl envisioned a new art in a new, better world. The equal collaboration between painters and architects appeals to me. They worked with a few important principles and sought harmony and balance through the use of simple image and form aspects: the universal primary colors, basic forms, horizontal and vertical (later also diagonal), perpendicularly intersecting lines, and asymmetrical compositions. These are also my starting points.

100 Years After De Stijl shows how contemporary artists give substance to abstract art. Twenty international artists create large, monumental 'Wall Paintings' at the Pieterskerkhof in Leiden. Curators Iemke van Dijk & Guido Winker.
