UAU (2006) resembles a totem: vowels perched and balancing along its sides. It juts a long nose into the world of commerce and advertising, sniffing out the hot air they sell. The paintings in the series pulse with metropolitan energy—dense traffic, hurried pedestrians, and a swirl of urban noise where language unravels into cacophony.

UAU (2006) doet denken aan een totempaal: klinkers die langs de zijkanten zijn opgesteld en in evenwicht blijven. Het steekt zijn lange neus uit in de wereld van de commercie en de reclame, op zoek naar de loze beloften die daar worden verkocht. De schilderijen in de serie bruisen van de energie van de grote stad – druk verkeer, gehaaste voetgangers en een wervelwind van stedelijk lawaai waarin taal uiteenvalt in een kakofonie.
