The phrase 'you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs' certainly applies to the arts. To create one needs to break old habits and let go of all expectations, either the worldly, materialistic ones - especially your own expectations and principles are the hardest to adjust. And yet, not knowing what will come out of your effort and sacrifices, not knowing if your project will be rewarding in any way - artists keep on making artworks. Against all odds and common sense. That's what I call omelette optimism.
