Listen to the Image

Paintings TAT/SO/DU proposes written language as a purely visual image, bringing new meaning to letters. Emphasizing the visual aspects of language: form, content, tone, melody, sign and rhythm. By isolating specific components of this totality and taking the meaning of the sound, with its potential to overwhelm and absorb language, and amplifying it into a signal. The paintings have a metropolitan atmosphere of heavy traffic and pedestrian bustle, a jumble of noises in which words dissolve into cacophony.
