Update: new page Ten Triptychs at Huis de Pinto
Leading up to the Book Launch 21/10, ten triptychs - or 30 giclée prints - are now on display in Huis de Pinto. They are selection from BUKU-BOEK-BOOK, a new publication of Indonesian, Dutch and English word images with the same meaning.
The text installation is immediately eye-catching upon entering the reading room of the monumental building. Located within walking distance of Amsterdam Central Station, the cultural and literary centre offers a friendly and accessible refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city. Curator Jacqueline Verhaagen gives artists working with language a platform in the reading room wall. A wide audience visits Huis de Pinto: book and music lovers, residents of the Nieuwmarkt neighbourhood and but also tourists walk in. It is a lively meeting place run by friendly and well-informed volunteers. I'm delighted the four-letter words are presented there!

NL - In aanloop op de boekpresentatie 21/10, zijn nu tien drieluiken, oftewel 30 giclée prints, te zien in Huis de Pinto. Het is een selectie uit BUKU-BOEK-BOOK, een nieuwe publicatie van Indonesische, Nederlandse en Engelse woordbeelden met dezelfde betekenis die a.s. zaterdag zal worden gepresenteerd.
De tekstinstallatie valt meteen op bij binnenkomst in de leeszaal van het monumentale pand. Het culturele en literaire centrum ligt op loopafstand van het Centraal Station van Amsterdam en biedt een vriendelijk en toegankelijk toevluchtsoord uit de drukte van de stad. Curator Jacqueline Verhaagen geeft kunstenaars die werken met taal een platform aan de leeszaalwand. Een breed publiek bezoekt Huis de Pinto: boekenlezers, muziekliefhebbers, bewoners van de Nieuwmarktbuurt maar ook toeristen lopen er naar binnen. Het is een levendige ontmoetingsplek gerund door vriendelijke en goed geinformeerde vrijwilligers. Ik ben heel blij dat de vierletterwoorden daar worden gepresenteerd!
