Tafellopers en Affiches
Bij de edities van de tafelkleden en placemats zijn nu ook tafellopers en posters toegevoegd. De twee ontwerpen van de lopers, BOEMBOE Blauw (met specerijen en vruchten) en GOJANG LIDAH Groen (met warme gerechten), hebben elk een afmeting van 45 x 140 cm.
Om ook andere woorden uit mijn onderzoek over Indische woorden in hedendaags Nederlands Atjar, kroepoek en pisang te presenteren, heb ik twee affiches ontworpen: ATJAR en KLAPPER. Op elk affiche staan 16 Indische woorden met de jaartallen waarop het woord voor het eerst in de Nederlandse taal werd geïntroduceerd, beknopte betekenissen en soms enkele wetenswaardigheden. Wist u bijvoorbeeld dat de goeling spottend door de Engelsen rond 1942 een “Dutch wife” werd genoemd?

Table runners and posters have now been added to the tablecloth and placemat editions. The two runner designs, BOEMBOE Blue (with spices and fruits) and GOJANG LIDAH Green (with hot dishes), each measure 45 x 140 cm.
To present other words from my research of colonial words in contemporary Dutch language Atjar, kroepoek and pisang, I designed two posters: ATJAR and KLAPPER. Each poster features 16 Indonesian words with the years in which the word was first introduced into the Dutch language, concise meanings and sometimes a few interesting facts. Did you know, for example, that around 1942 the English mockingly referred to the goeling as a “Dutch wife”?
